Bardot Miami in Wynwood

While some still find a night in the Wynwood Club District more urban than urbane, the investors behind Design District darling Sra. Martinez planted their flag on 34th and North Miami Avenue in hopes people would embrace a new out-of-the-way speakeasy inspired by the bygone screen siren Brigitte Bardot.

A sexy cinema star who’s lusty life is most often compared to American icon Marilyn Monroe, BardotMiami showcases music, art, fashion, film, and literature and has proven to be as elusive as the temptress herself. For starters, there is no sign out front, a gambit that’s proven successful in Manhattan but could be potentially lethal on an off-night in Wynwood.  The entrance to the club is hidden around the corner on 34th Street and sports a crimson canopy leading those in the know to the lounge.

Once inside, guests can mingle, play pool on a vintage table, go retro and roll a few games of backgammon or simply bask in the club’s insider vibe. Bardot’s website places a premium on good service, guest privacy and beauty in every form. “Bardot is the next generation bar experience. Inspired by the revolution in bars and social clubs between the 1920’s and 1960s… Bardot is the international sex icon whose body was the common language.”

That’s a tall order for a nightclub so dress accordingly! Bardot gets a flurry of patrons each time the big money juggernaut that is Art Basel storms our beaches in December.

BardotMiami is located under the red canopy just off North Miami Avenue at 34th Street. www.bardotmiami.com

And be sure to tell them Roger Vadim sent you. It may not help you get inside, but at least you’ll sound cool…
