Noted interior designer Wallace Tutt celebrated his new book, Harbour Island, Sunday evening with a sunset book signing at Bar 721, just off Lincoln Road in South Beach.
Tutt is known for his elite design projects such as Casa Casuarina and Rock House, a hideaway on Harbour Island that attracts exclusive guests such as Lenny Kravitz and Robert de Niro.
Tutt’s new book, Harbour Island, is a coffee-table pictorial of the exclusive Bahamian island frequented by the rich and famous, and where Wallace also maintains a home.
Tutt first burst on to the South Beach scene in the early 1980’s and was often seen with celebrities such as Gianni Versace, Madonna, Sir Elton John and Sting. He designed homes for Cher in both Miami and Malibu, and was also responsible for breathing new life into The Angler’s Hotel, a boutique resort condominium on Washington Avenue.
After decades of successful interior design projects Tutt set his sights on building the Rock House hotel, a chic boutique hotel and restaurant on Harbour Island.
Tutt’s book, Harbour Island, is a celebration of the magic and mystery of the romantic island. Harbour Island is penned by former Ocean Drive magazine senior editor, Jacquelynn Powers with art directed by former Niche Media creative director, Carlos Suarez, both frequent Harbour Island visitors.
Sales from Harbour Island will benefit the island’s education programs.
