Here’s an update from next week’s Pink Dress Collection Rock Miami Beach Fashion Week opener at the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach hotel on Wednesday October 14 at 9pm. Honoring the breast cancer charity Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation, the promenade of dresses and evening wear will include models and local celebrities PLUS one infamous ex-basketball star who has been known to wear a frock or two – Dennis Rodman!
The curiously tattooed hipster will lead some famous Florida faces down the runway next week including CBS4 anchor Lissette Gonzalez, NBC6 anchor Roxanne Vargas, and Deco Drive WSVN7 reporter Shireen Sandoval in support of the cause. The Pink Dress Collection features the work of famous designers like Luca Luca, Nanette Lepore, Betsey Johnson and Nicole Miller.
“I am so excited about The Pink Dress Collection show during Rock Fashion Week,” said Bobbi Meyers, executive director with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Miami/Fort Lauderdale. “This collection will help us continue to bolster our overall vision: a world without breast cancer.”
Funding breast cancer awareness, education and research since 1996, the Komen Foundation raised over $8 million dollars and reached hundreds of thousands of men and women through their unique grassroots efforts. The dresses on view in New York City, Miami Beach and Los Angeles will be auctioned off at the end of October and all proceeds from online bidding will benefit the foundation.
Gen Art celebrates the opening night of Rock Fashion Week Miami Beach with a pre-show cocktail party at 6:30 at the Eden Roc before the famous faces and sparkling creations sweep down the runway.
The Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach is located at 4525 Collins Avenue.
