Park Avenue Club | New Nightclub & Restaurant in Miami Beach

Park Avenue Club from the Opium Group

A new nightclub operated by the Opium Group is coming to Miami Beach. The Park Avenue Club located at 2228 Park Avenue in Miami Beach’s Collins Park area will officially be “a restaurant, lounge and club catering to celebrities and a prominent clientele” according to documents filed with the City.

The existing building where the new club/restaurant will be located has an interesting history. The irregularly shaped 4-story, 11,373 square foot structure was originally built in 2006 as two large residential townhouse units, but has remained unoccupied since its construction. It was designed by noted architect Chad Oppenheim and has a 2-story high open balcony on the east elevation starting at the 3rd floor.

The ground floor of the Park Avenue Club will contain an intimate 68-seat restaurant while the second and third floors will house the lounge and nightclub. The owners intend to remove the entire fourth floor of the structure to create a 2-story high third floor for the nightclub. The lower 1-story portion of the balcony will be enclosed, but the upper balcony will remain open-air. Two new elevators will be installed, as well as a floating external stairwell.

In the 1940s the areas of Liberty Avenue, Park Avenue, 22nd and 23rd streets were a center of Miami Beach nightlife and contained no less than ten restaurants and nightclubs including The Embers and the famed Park Avenue Restaurant & Club which was located just across the street from this project where the Miami City Ballet now stands.

No opening date for the Park Avenue Club has been scheduled as of yet.

The Opium Group is one of America’s leading operators of nightlife venues which include Cameo, Louis, Mansion, Mokai and Set in Miami Beach, and Opium Nightclub at the Seminole Hardrock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
