Colony Theater

The Colony Theater in Miami Beach was built in 1934 and was originally part of Paramount theater chain. After several ownership changes it was deeded to the City of Miami Beach which now operates the theater. The Colony is host to live performances as well as film festivals throughout the year.

The 465-seat Colony Theater recently completed a three-year, $6.5 million renovation/restoration which returned the main entrance to its original Lincoln Road frontage. The interior features a larger stage, modern lighting, and state-of-the-art theatrical rigging and sound systems.

Performers such as Eartha Kitt, Spalding Gray, Sandra Bernhard, Lypsinka and Ru Paul have all graced the Colony’s stage, as have numerous local dance companies. The annual South Beach Film Festival, and the Winter Shorts Film Festival are also held here.

The theater is also host to “Segafredo,” one of Lincoln Road’s top outdoor cafés.

The Colony Theater is located at 1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, Florida, 33139. Phone: 305.674.1040
